Most of people use Orkut for scrapping feature. But sometimes, we don’t get replies from our friends. At those times we wonder whether they are online or offline. It makes a curiosity to know if that friend is online but not scrapping just to avoid.

Just to check if someone is online on orkut or not, open your homepage and look at your orkut friends list. It’s in the top right side corner. You will see few (8) of your friend’s pic over there.

The first row displays 4 friends. And just get sure that those four friends are online. Orkut always displays recently logged members in the top row. So, almost get sure that those four friends are online. And the next four friends in the below line, well there is a 50-50 chance, which depends on the number of friends you have. If you have more than 50 friends, then there is a bright chance that the second row friends are online, but if you have less than 50 orkut friends, you can not comment on his online presence.

Try it out !

1. Click settings on the left sidebar of your orkut profile or homepage.
2. On the general tab, find the ‘safety filter’ section.
3. Select the bubble next to ‘do not show inappropriate content.’
4. Don’t forget to click the save changes button at the bottom of the page when you’re done.

So, if you started a topic in any community or replied to any of the topic, you will be notified whenever any new reply is made on that topic.

And the best thing is when you get the updates your friends won’t be able to see it so you get some privacy

For writing blank scrap, follow the steps:

1) Open any scrapbook.

2) Write [i] in the scrapbook. (you can also use [b] & [u] )

3) Do NOT write anything else in the scrapbook, and submit the scrap.

That’s all.

Now go and impress your friends by sending invisible scraps in orkut.

You will be take to a dedicated community recommendation page, where you can check individually why a particular community has been recommended to you.

If you don’t like this new feature, you can turn it off by going to settings page and unchecking community recommendations checkbox.
